The "SMART WATER STARTER KIT" consists of the YoLink Hub and four Water Leak Sensor 1 devices. The hub supports both Ethernet and 2.4GHz WiFi connectivity, enabling a simple "Plug, Plug & Play" setup that can have you up and running in minutes by connecting to your router's Ethernet port.
The wireless Water Leak Sensor 1 devices are incredibly easy to install - simply place them near or under any equipment you wish to monitor, such as toilets, water heaters, laundry machines, dishwashers, sinks, fish tanks, sump pumps, or other locations prone to leaks and flooding.
Powered by LoRa technology, this long-range, low-power system offers the longest wireless range in the industry, reaching up to 1/4 mile. This extended coverage allows the sensors to be used in areas challenging for typical residential WiFi, including basements, outdoor areas, sheds, garages, and remote outbuildings.
Even without WiFi, internet, or power, the system continues to function. The patented Control-D2D device-to-device pairing over the LoRa network ensures the devices can communicate and operate independently, providing reliable performance even when connectivity is disrupted.
The YoLink Hub can support over 300 devices and is compatible with the entire line of YoLink smart home products, including security, environmental, power & lighting, smart locks, and upcoming camera solutions.
To use the system, you'll need an Android or Apple smartphone, along with either an Ethernet connection with internet access or a stable 2.4GHz WiFi network. The companion mobile app is free to download and use, providing 5 free text alerts per device per month. Additional text message plans are available for $2 (200 messages) or $5 (500 messages) per month.
Lastly, the kit includes eight replaceable AAA batteries for the Water Leak Sensor 1 devices, which are rated for over 5 years of use.
